Steiner is a married man to Christa Podsedly with two kids. In 2007, Scott was punched by his opponent in the throat and immediately he started to cough blood. He was rushed to a nearby hospital by an ambulance where he was diagnosed with a torn trachea, and he was given five hours to live.
